Fun on the Fourth

We built a float and participated in Spring Grove’s Fourth of July parade. The theme was the Wizard of Oz and our float was the Emerald City. We had The Scarecrow, Dorothy and Glenda riding on the float throwing candy to the folks who lined the parade route. The Wicked Witch and Cowardly Lion walked beside the float with other church members. We handed out chilled bottles of water and wished everyone a happy 4th.

The end of the parade wasn’t the end of the Emerald City though. We towed our float to the fair grounds and transformed it into a box maze! Children got to crawl through the maze. We also had face painting and some pretty cool balloon animals.

We were really surprised when the float won first place! It was a great day to be involved with the life of Spring Grove and to make many friends.
